How to Fix Database in Joomla?
A new tool has been introduced by Joomla since its 2.5 version called "Database Fix". This is a bit hidden but a very useful tool to fix database issues if you are having any in your Joomla website.
When you upgrade or migrate your Joomla website from older version to newer Joomla, you may face database compatibility issue. At that time this tool will help you maintaining your database compatibility and will fix the issue that you have with the database. So we recommend to check this tool when you upgrade your Joomla website.
How to use Database Fix Tool
- Go to Joomla Admin and Navigate to Extension Manager
- Click on Database
- If it is showing a success OR up-to-date message, congratulations! You don't have any issue with your database.
- But if you've any issue with database, it will list them in log that you can see on the same screen.
- You'll see Fix button on top bar so just click on it.
- And you're done!
Please note that it will only attempt to fix any database issues caused by changes in the database structure that occurred between versions. For other issues, you will have your technician to look at it. If you don't have any, contact us and we'll help you to get this fixed!
